Notice What's Going Right
A great part of my life was focused on what was not going right. I was so consumed by what others thought of me that I felt deeply disconnected and profoundly lonely, cut off from my inner being and knowingness. In a world that trains our brains to be "problem-solvers," we often become "problem-seekers" instead. We need to recalibrate our internal radar—to stop looking for what's broken and stop living in a construction zone. It's time to move into the finished room.
Survival isn't enough; we want to thrive. It's about bringing our mind, body, and soul into a homeostasis state where we have clarity of thought, a body with energy flowing freely, and a soul that is connected and grounded. Ask yourself: What is one thing in your life right now that is working perfectly, but you've been taking it for granted?
To notice what is right, we must soften the "defensive shield" around our hearts. The Heart Chakra is the bridge between our physical safety and our spiritual wisdom. It's located at the center of the chest, its color is green, its mantras are "Yam" and "AH," and its basic concerns are love, acceptance, and compassion.
Chakra Activation: Heart Chakra (Anahata) Expansion:
Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly, and feel the rise and fall of your breath.
Imagine a soft, emerald green light glowing behind your breastbone. With every inhale, this light expands.
Take a deep breath in. As you inhale, think of one person or pet that loves you unconditionally. As you exhale, imagine that green light washing over your entire body.
Whisper or think: "I am open to the abundance already present. I have eyes that see the good."
Give your heart a gentle pat and release your hands, keeping that green "lens" open for this day.
The Strategist's View: As a strategist, I look at your attention as capital. Where you spend it determines your "life profit."
The Negativity Bias Override: For every one thing that "goes wrong," your brain needs to see five things that went right just to stay at baseline. We call this the "5:1 Satisfaction Ratio."
Confirmation Bias Flip: Your brain is a search engine. If you type "Why is my life hard?" into your mental Google, it will find 1,000 results. Today, we are typing in: "What is supporting me right now?"
The "Wildcard" Lesson: Even in a "bad" situation, there is usually a 1% thread of "right." (e.g., "The meeting was stressful, but I advocated for myself.") Noticing that 1% is how you maintain your power.
The "3x3 Evidence Audit":
The Physical 3: Look around and write down three physical objects in your room that make your life easier or more beautiful.
The Internal 3: Write down three things your body did "right" today (e.g., "I woke up," "I can see these words," "My lungs are breathing for me").
The External 3: Write down three people or systems that are working in your favor (e.g., "The internet is connected," "The trash was picked up," "My best friend checked in").
The Conclusion: Look at your list of nine things and say out loud, "The evidence is clear: much is going right."
Every time you notice something "wrong," you must immediately point out two things that are "right." Keep the ratio in your favor. When we notice what's going right, we begin to see how much we have taken for granted in our lives. Waking up to see and feel the sun is something to be profoundly grateful for. When we sit down and are truly present, we notice what's going right in our precious life.

Welcome to this sacred space where you train your attention on what's working, thriving, and unfolding beautifully. This week, we're exploring the transformative practice of noticing what's going right—shifting your focus from what's broken to what's working, from problems to progress, and from lack to abundance. Your brain is wired to find what you look for; it's time to look for the good.
Food For Thought:
Nourishment for Your Soul: The Good That's Already Here
What if right now, in this very moment, more things are going right than wrong? What if the problem-focused lens you're seeing life through is preventing you from noticing the countless things that are working, thriving, and unfolding beautifully? What if your life is actually more abundant than you've been allowing yourself to see?
Consider this: Your heart is beating perfectly. Your lungs are breathing effortlessly. Your body is healing cuts, fighting infections, and maintaining billions of processes without your conscious effort. You woke up today. You have access to food, water, shelter. Someone loves you. You've survived 100% of your hardest days. These are all things going right, but how often do you actually notice them?
The Power of Positive Attention
There's a hardwired survival mechanism in your brain called the negativity bias—it's designed to scan for threats, problems, and what's wrong to keep you safe. This means your brain naturally focuses on the 5% that's not working while overlooking the 95% that is. You'll remember the one criticism in a sea of compliments. You'll fixate on the one thing that went wrong while dismissing the ten things that went right. This bias served our ancestors when survival depended on spotting danger, but in modern life, it creates anxiety, dissatisfaction, and blindness to the good that's already here.
Noticing what's going right means: consciously looking for evidence of what's working, celebrating small wins and daily victories, acknowledging progress even when the goal isn't yet reached, recognizing what you take for granted, appreciating people, circumstances, and aspects of yourself that are functioning well, retraining your brain to seek the good as actively as it seeks problems, and creating a balanced view that sees both challenges and blessings.
This week, we honor your commitment to shift your focus and celebrate your choice to notice the good that's already here.

Closing: Heart-to-Heart
Dearest one, remember that noticing what's going right isn't about denying your challenges or pretending everything is perfect—it's about seeing the complete picture instead of just the problems. Just as a photographer can focus on a cluttered corner or the beautiful light streaming through the window in the same room, you get to choose what you focus your attention on, and that choice changes everything.
With celebration of all that's thriving in your life,
Your Self-Care Strategist 💕
P.S. Sweet soul, if you're reading this thinking "But there really is so much going wrong," I hear you. I'm not asking you to pretend problems don't exist or to bypass real pain and challenges. I'm inviting you to expand your view to include what's also going right. Right now, as you read this, your heart is beating—that's going right. You have access to these words—that's going right. You're still here, still trying, still growing—that's going right. Start there. You don't have to feel grateful for what's hard. You don't have to be positive about what's painful. But you can acknowledge that alongside the difficulty, there's also good. Both can be true. And when you start noticing what's working, you'll find you have more energy and resilience to address what's not. The good doesn't erase the hard, but it does make the hard more bearable. Look for it. It's there.
"Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance."
